The ABA launch programme coordination team’s first in-person
meeting.
On 2 August 2026, the Autism Bridge Africa launch programme
coordination team met in person for the first time at the Mall of
Africa in Midrand, South Africa.
The meeting brought the team together to plan the upcoming official
launch, clarify roles and responsibilities, and coordinate the
activities required for the event. Members also discussed ABA’s
vision, programme priorities and plans for supporting autistic
children and their families across Africa.
This milestone marks an important step in building a strong

Establishing our foundation
UNHCR supports the establishment of ABA.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has
supported the establishment of Autism Bridge Africa with office
and programme equipment, including furniture, laptops, printers,
therapeutic equipment and other essential resources.
This contribution helps ABA establish its operations and create an
environment for delivering programmes for autistic children and
their families.
ABA appreciates UNHCR’s support in laying the foundation for an
organisation committed to inclusion, dignity and opportunity
across Africa.
